SALEM, CT — A local collective of photographers has ignited an industry civil war by doubling down on the practice of mixing black-and-white imagery with isolated pops of color. The group's most controversial work to date: stripping an entire wedding gallery to grayscale, save for a single, neon-bright bridal bouquet.
The collective, who call themselves the Color Ranges And Pixels group — proudly abbreviated as CRAP — frame the movement as the natural heir to the Orange-and-Teal preset trend. Founder Morris told The Tog Times the technique forces the viewer to look at the flowers, adding that while critics may not love it, they certainly cannot miss it. Clients appear to be on board: one recent subject requested a gallery preserving only the blue of her eyes and her denim.
Industry response has been less generous. Esteban, who curates a prominent Facebook photography community, has instituted a "Delete Without Notice" policy banning CRAP posts from his group, citing concerns that bridesmaids should not be made to resemble extras from Sin City. Meanwhile, a splinter cell calling itself The Dusty Lens has moved beyond the selective-color debate entirely — opting instead to bathe every image, from corporate headshots to high-fashion editorials, in a thick monochromatic sepia. Their spokesperson, who goes only by Old Timey Tim, says the goal is to evoke a sense of history that never actually happened.
LONDON, UK — The City of London Goods and Services Ministry has officially recognized "exposure" as a legitimate form of payment for photographers. Instagram shout-outs from 10,000+ follower accounts qualify as "High-Yield Tender," while caption tags carry a 1.25× multiplier. Veterans were skeptical.
