King Charles Declines Easter Address, Announces “I Shoot Sony” Instead

YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND — King Charles III did not issue an Easter greeting this Holy Week. He announced instead that he has taken up photography and that he shoots Sony.

The statement, released without further elaboration, produced a response among Sony shooters that observers have described as historically unprecedented for a monarchy that has traditionally delegated image-making to credentialed professionals.

The Yorkshire Reaction

James Morris (Mo Jams, Mo Memories): “People are making his lack of Easter greeting a political statement. But what about him being a Sony shooter? By golly, it’s pretty incredible, innit?”

Sandy (Call The Shots Photo): “I wish the Queen had done this. It would have been swell, innit?”

The Dissenting View

Many of Monarchy’s Christian communities were markedly upset. “This is disgraceful! What does being a ‘Sony shooter,’ whatever that means? have to do with this Season?” a disgruntled member of the Church of England stated.

And elsewhere, not all members of the photographic community received the announcement with similar warmth. A Nikon shooter, who asked not to be identified, called the gesture misplaced.

“That’s lousy. Just say ‘The Royal Family wishes everyone a Happy Easter and Blessings to all,’ or something like that. This ‘I shoot Sony’ bit from the crown is unbecoming.”

Current Status

The King has not indicated what body or lens combination he is currently using. Buckingham Palace did not respond to a request for comment.
